COOPERATIVE TRANSBOUNDARY LEARNING FOR ECOSYSTEM MENAGMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE SHARR MOUNTAIN REGION
The project aims to
- Establishment of a ‘live’ network of academics and practitioners on cooperative transboundary learning for ecosystem management, aiming on the long term at the sustainable management of the natural resources and securing ecosystem services necessary for a good life in the Sharr mountain cross-border region
- Building up capacity for cooperative transboundary ecosystem management in higher education institutions of Kosovo and FYR of Macedonia and strengthening cooperation and exchange between them and further partners (universities & conservation community) in Europe.
- Enhancing cooperation between universities, conservation authorities, stakeholders and NGOs active in the project region increasing applied research in the field of transboundary adaptive conservation management and ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change.
- Increasing applied research in the field of transboundary ecosystem conservation management, sustainable development and ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change in order to contribute finding solutions for actual problems
